At the Feb. 20 board meeting, the School Board and Superintendent Dent honored The Chamber Collective with a Golden Apple Community Partner Award. A collaborative group, representing several smaller chamber groups in eastern Pierce County, the Chamber Collective is an important link in helping the District engage, connect and grow partnerships within the local business community.
Here are just a few ways Chamber Collective members have contributed to career connected learning with students:
Volunteered as Career Day participants and classroom guest speakers.
Judged student events and activities that support DECA and FCCLA programs.
Opened businesses for industry tours and job shadows.
Provided mentorship in career and leadership development.
Thank you, Chamber Collective, for being a valuable link to our business community and connecting classroom learning to the real world.
