  • Winter Weather

    Winter may bring weather conditions that require school schedule delays or closure. Even when road conditions in the valley appear passable, bad weather on the hill often causes hazardous driving conditions and impacts the district's ability to operate buses safely.

  • 2018-19 Attendance Waiver Window: Jan. 2-31

    Resident students who wish to attend a school other than their resident school must complete the In-District Waiver Application. In-District Waiver Applications are not required each year for continued attendance unless transitioning to another school.

    Elementary schools will host a Meet & Greet night for families transitioning to a new elementary school as a result of the 2018-19 boundary changes.

    The annual winter inspection of the District's school bus fleet this month resulted in 95 percent of our buses meeting safety standards established by the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

    The District recently launched Securly Parent Portal, a web filtering tool offering parental controls and reports on district-issued chromebooks.

  • Boundary Change Update

    Based on the recommendation from District Administration, the Sumner School District Board of Directors adopted a resolution to change attendance boundaries, effective the 2018-19 school year. A clause within the resolution allows families affected by the boundary change to be “grandfathered” into their current school.
