    Students in the Sumner School District lost one day of instruction due to a weather-related school closure on Feb. 22. The current school calendar includes one day for weather make-up, which is May 25.

Register for School

  • Welcome to the Sumner School District! With a strong pledge to serve children and their families, rigorous academics and learning initiatives ensure a quality education for every child making the SSD a great place to learn! The District serves families residing in the cities of Bonney Lake, Edgewood, Pacific and Sumner, and unincorporated areas of Pierce County. Residency verification is required at time of enrollment.

    Sumner High School has many clubs, activities, and athletic programs that support 13th Year Planning. Involvement in these programs and activities are an excellent way for students to meet people, grow connected to the Sumner High School community, demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Many universities, colleges, scholarship committees, apprenticeship programs, and employers value student experiences in extracurricular activities.
