Back-to-School Resource Fair Dates: Summer 2023

Families of Sumner-Bonney Lake students in need may pick up school supplies, such as backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks, binders, and more at these grab-and-go events in August:

Thursday, Aug. 17 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Daffodil Valley Elementary, 1509 Valley Ave., Sumner

The community came together to get backpacks, school supplies and more into the hands of 548 children from 228 families at our first Back-to-School Resource Fair of the summer! A big shout-out to our awesome donors, contributors and volunteers for making this happen.

Tuesday, Aug. 22 | Noon to 2 p.m.

Liberty Ridge Elementary, 12202 209th Ave Ct. E., Bonney Lake

A great wrap-up of our second Back-to-School Resource Fair at Liberty Ridge Elementary! Thank you to all of our staff, donors and volunteers for making this happen. We had 151 families and 396 students receive free backpacks, school supplies (for school work at home!), community resource information, updates about district programs and swag bags, too. And, thanks to nurses from the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, 11 additional children received immunizations at an on-site vaccine clinic, running concurrently with our event.

Back-To-School Resource Fair 2022-23

We distributed a grand total of 1,584 backpacks to students from more than 580 families in August 2022. We held four Back-to-School Resource Fairs at Daffodil Valley Elementary, Lakeridge Middle School, Liberty Ridge Elementary and the Sumner-Bonney Lake Family Resource Center.
