State of the District event highlights student, district achievements

We welcomed more than 50 community and parent leaders to the 2nd Annual State of the District event on Oct. 15 at Sumner High School. Focusing on students, event attendees enjoyed breakfast catered by SHS culinary students, a Career & Technical Education showcase of programs and learning, entertainment by the SHS band, and dance performances by Tehaleh Heights Elementary students and the SHS Asian American Pacific Islander Club.

Superintendent Dent’s informative presentation, titled Building for the Future, touched academics, workforce development and community partnerships.
