Inaugural State of the District event featured students and superintendent

More than 50 community leaders attended SBLSD’s first-ever State of the District event, held on Feb. 1 at Bonney Lake High School. The Panthers pulled out all the stops to host a breakfast from Culinary Arts students, and performances from their choir and band.

Students from other schools added to the festivities with a presentation of colors from Sumner High School JROTC, Land Acknowledgement from Mountain View Middle School, Modern Band performance from Victor Falls Elementary, and keynote remarks from Superintendent Dr. Dent.

With so many awesome aspects of the event, it’s difficult to determine the best part. Some say the nods to Taylor Swift with a friendship bracelet and the Modern Band’s performance of “Shake it Off,” while others got goosebumps watching this video showcasing our students and staff in daily teaching, learning and activities.
