Get to know our CSOs and SROs!

Did you know that the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District has 10 Campus Safety Officers (CSO) and two School Resource Officers (SRO) dedicated to keeping our schools safe?

Get to know them below! But first, a bit on what they do:

Campus Safety Officers: There are three Campus Safety Officers at each high school, one at Sumner Middle, one at Lakeridge Middle and two at Mountain View Middle. These District employees help maintain order and discipline, prevent crime, and help investigate violations of school rules and policies. All Campus Safety Officers are trained in the most up-to-date best practices including first aid, de-escalation, CPR, AED and crisis intervention. Our Campus Safety Officers work with building administrative teams to ensure student and staff safety.

SROs also promote a safe learning environment and act as educational resources. For schools located outside city limits, the District is in discussion with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and will have SROs at those schools in the future.
