Superintendent Dent receives national leadership award

Our district is proud to celebrate Superintendent Dr. Laurie Dent, who has received a national award from the National School Public Relations Association for her outstanding leadership in communication, community engagement and trust-building.

Dr. Dent was selected for the prestigious Bob Grossman Leadership in Communication Award, which honors superintendents who demonstrate excellence in connecting with and serving their school communities.

Since becoming superintendent, Dr. Dent has led with a clear belief: every student matters, every student is capable, and every student deserves a promising future. Under her leadership, the district’s “know, value and support every student” promise and “Strong Minds, Kind Hearts” initiative have helped strengthen connections with students, families, staff and the broader community.

Known for her approachable and relationship-centered leadership style, Dr. Dent has prioritized listening, transparency and authentic engagement — from meeting regularly with student, parent and community groups to guiding the district through challenges with care and consistency.
