Panther Chefs take home gold in state culinary competition

The Bonney Lake High School Culinary Team cooked up success at the 2026 Washington ProStart Invitational on Tuesday in Coeur d’Alene, taking home gold and their ticket to the National ProStart Competition in Baltimore in April.

Their winning dishes included a creamy Dungeness crab raviolo starter, an American Wagyu filet with sauteed mushrooms, glazed beets and potato croquette as the main course, and an Earl Grey panna cotta, glazed poached pear and blackberry tuile for dessert. The Panther Chefs were judged on production, skills, tasting and menu.

We’re proud of these Panther Chefs for showcasing their talent and hard work. They put countless hours into preparing for this competition. Wish them luck at Nationals!

Also, shoutout to BLHS teacher Kahale Ahina for his recent recognition by the Washington Chef Association for his service to the chef community!
