FCCLA students earn national awards

Congratulations to our Bonney Lake High School and Sumner High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students who competed at the FCCLA National Conference in Washington D.C., earning impressive awards and recognitions! 

More than 10,000 attendees from across the country gathered in the nation’s capital to enjoy workshops, keynote speakers, competitions and more. Our students worked very hard and dedicated many hours to prepare for this conference. Their success on the national stage is a testament to their hard work, collaboration and commitment to excellence.

Bonney Lake High School

Chapter Recognition: The BLHS chapter was recognized as the HS Winner for the National Program Student Body with a focus on Sugar Awareness and understanding sugar in our bodies, specifically around sugar added beverages.  Chloe S. represented the chapter and received the plaque on stage.

State Officer: Jayla D. served as Washington State Officer as VP of Competitive Events and a National Voting Delegate. She interviewed national officer candidates, and helped run the state meetings during the week, including the STAR Events Competition recognition session.

  • Allen: 1st Place and National Champion, Knowledge Challenge on Counseling and Mental Health Services; Gold, Interior Design
  • Addi: Gold, Children Project
  • Audrey: 8th in the Virtual Business Challenge in Personal Finance
  • Chanel: Silver, Chapter in Review Portfolio
  • Reilly: Silver, Event Management
  • Chloe & Delaney: Silver, National Program in Action
  • Larkin: Silver, Hospitality 

Say Yes to FCS: Delaney participated in the national signing event on stage for Say Yes to FCS, committing to be a FCS teacher in the future

Adviser Recognition: Tricia Littlefield was recognized as one of the Top 15 FCCLA Advisers of the Year, and earned the Master Adviser Academy: Elite designation 
 

Sumner High School

State Officer: Elizabeth served as a Washington State Officer and helped facilitate state meetings throughout the conference. 

Chapter Showcase Presentation: Sara, Irie and Kennedy shared their chapter project, the Spartan Boutique.
