Breaking ground on SHS Phase 2
Thank you, voters! Construction has begun on Sumner High School Phase 2. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Aug. 25, 2026, where staff, families, students and community partners gathered to celebrate.
With an anticipated completion date of Fall 2028, Phase 2 includes new classrooms, Career & Technical Education, Special Education classrooms, a new space for Tiny Sparts childcare, a greenhouse and additional parking.
"We're not just here celebrating a building today," said SHS junior Ali B. at the ceremony. "It's bigger than that. It's about our community, hope, and our future together."
