Technology Services will provide and maintain sustainable technologies that enhances a technology-rich, learning-focused community. Equally as important is ensuring staff members are provided the opportunity to receive professional development that exemplifies best practices.

Department Overview

Technology Services supports staff and students district wide. We are in the business of making technology work seamlessly to enhance student learning and support systems throughout the district. The department is made up of four distinct services that work together to make technology serve the end user.

  • Technical Support
Supporting hardware, installations, phones, security and network infrastructure.

  • Instructional Technology
Supporting the use of technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and student learning. In addition, each school has at least one Instructional Technology Coordinator to support the direct needs of the teacher in the classroom.

  • Web/Application Services
Supporting internet and intranet web environments such as student and staff dashboards.  Processes are regularly reviewed to streamline and automate services wherever possible.

  • Strategic Technology Planning
Our guiding footprint as we plan for the future of students and staff. The work of the plan takes a year of soliciting stakeholders input, conducting regional and national technology research, evaluating services through data gathering, and finally drafting language for the plan that will be reviewed and presented to the District School Board for final approval.

We desire the thoughtfulness of community members to contribute to our planning. The Community Technology Advisory Group (CTAG) is a group of community members who meet regularly to discuss the technology needs of the district. To participate in the CTAG Advisory Group, please call (253) 891-6111 or email the Director of Technology Operations.
