Social Media Terms of Use

The Sumner-Bonney Lake School District (SBLSD) social media accounts, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram are administered and monitored by our staff.  Social media tools are a powerful method of communication used by millions of individuals and groups across the globe to share information and connect with others. The SBLSD uses social media tools and channels to enhance communication and engagement with our school community. The school community includes our students and their families, teachers and all our school and district staff, as well as residents and businesses within the school district boundaries.

Contacting the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District via social media does not constitute an official means of contacting the district, providing notice or public comment, requesting public records, or seeking emergency help. If you are a student, family member, or staff in crisis, please call 911.

We've created our social media accounts to be informal, quick information sources about our school district to celebrate and share information on specific school district topics of interest. All social media platforms operated by the SBLSD are designated as Limited Public Forums and we reserve the right to remove comments that, in our discretion, are inconsistent with these terms of use.Posting of any content on any social media platform operated by the SBLSD constitutes acceptance of the terms of use described here in this document.

We welcome your thoughts and comments on relevant topics and look forward to what you have to say but we expect all comments to be courteous. The views expressed in user comments on SBLSD social media platforms reflect only those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official views of the SBLSD. In general, the SBLSD will allow comments reflecting any point of view on a posted topic provided that comments adhere to these guidelines.
