Capital Projects
The Capital Projects team is responsible for sustaining, planning and improving of the District's facilities. This includes the modernization, renovation and expansion of existing buildings, and the construction of new buildings. The department works with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors to design and build the projects. Projects range from large bond projects to small capital projects, along with technology and safety upgrades.
2016 Bond Projects
Thank you to our voters, who passed a $145.6 million Sumner-Bonney Lake School District capital construction bond in February 2016. This bond funded construction projects of various scope located throughout every region of the District.
Bond projects touched every region of the district.
Investing $145.6 million into infrastructure and meeting the 2016 bond goals that:
- Increased instructional space
- Accommodates full-day kindergarten
- Provides classrooms to lower elementary class sizes
- Expanded curriculum offerings
- Enhanced student safety and security
- Improved quality of student life
Enhanced safety, security and technology.
Projects were completed at Crestwood, Daffodil Valley, Donald Eismann and Liberty Ridge elementary schools, Mountain View Middle School and Bonney Lake High School. Varying by building, the collective enhancements include:
- Improved cameras
- Card access
- Video doorbell
- Security vestibules
- Security fence/gate
