Goal 1 in Action

Nurse conducting vision screening

11/16/23

Every year, the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District conducts state-mandated vision and hearing screenings in the fall for students in grades K-3, 5 and 7 – that’s about 4,500 students. The screenings identify barriers to learning for students in the early years. Hear from our District RN and one of our parents about the importance of these screenings in our schools.

For John, the first day of school won’t be too much of a surprise. That’s in part because he was one of about 80 incoming kindergarteners who signed up for a two-day Kinder Camp at the Sumner Early Learning Center in August.
