Sumner High School Master Plan
Sumner High School is currently at 97% capacity.
Many portions of SHS are old and outdated, with systems requiring increased maintenance.
Proposition 1 would make districtwide improvements, including rebuilding and expanding Sumner High School to be a modern, safe and ADA-compliant facility.

Districtwide improvements through Prop. 1
Prop. 1 would make school improvements in teaching and learning environments that support student achievement and relieve student overcrowding at nearly all schools, including:
- Major improvements and expansion of both high schools: Bonney Lake and Sumner
- New middle school in Tehaleh
- Improvements at 5 elementary schools: Crestwood, Daffodil Valley, Donald Eismann, Liberty Ridge and Tehaleh Heights
- Nearly all schools will be impacted by relieving student overcrowding and “right sizing” classrooms to maintain individualized teaching and learning for all students
Other districtwide improvements, varying by school, include:
- Updated learning technology
- Make classroom and facility improvements for expanded career/technical education
- Replacing aging roofs
- Make Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility improvements
- Improve mechanical systems for clean air/water and energy efficiency
- Add multi-use synthetic turf fields for students/community
- Improve health/safety/security
