Community Cultural Celebration
Honoring Every Voice, Every Story
4/26/24
More than 300 people celebrated the rich culture of our Sumner-Bonney Lake community on Saturday at the Community Cultural Celebration.
Guests sampled various foods, including Spam musubi, a popular snack in Hawaii, and fry bread, made fresh by members of the Native American Education Program.
There was singing, dancing, poetry, and more performed by students and community members. Check out this video highlighting the event for a glimpse of various performances, including a Samoan dance by members of the Sumner High School Asian American Pacific Islanders Club, Ukrainian songs performed by members of the Salo and Panasyuk families, and a traditional Mongolian dance by Tehaleh Heights Elementary students Elizabeth and Yesu Sodbileg.
