Tax Sheltered Annuity (403B) and Tax Deferred Governmental (457) Plans

Employees are the Sumner School District’s most valuable assets and their wellness and health is very important. The Sumner School District mission statement states, “We believe in success for students and staff every day.” That success is in part defined as social, physical, intellectual, spiritual and emotional wellness.

The District provides a variety of tools to help each employee make individual choices that may improve his or her health. Employees are encouraged to find a positive work-life balance that helps them be successful at work and at home. For this reason, the Sumner School District encourages walks as breaks, access to healthy food, use of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and chaplains, and social interaction among employees as part of doing the work here in the Sumner School District. Other policies include flex schedules, part-time work opportunities, and leaves such as holidays, personal leave, vacation, sick leave and sick leave sharing, jury duty, military leave, bereavement leave, etc., which help employees balance duties to their family and community with duties at work.

The District strongly encourages health and wellness efforts by individual employees and groups of employees.
