Testing

The healthy growth and improvement of a total school program is dependent upon sound evaluation practices in all areas of the school curriculum. Each decision that is made and each course of action that is plotted is based on some kind of evaluation judgment. A continuing testing program is essential in making this happen.

Testing student aptitude, student achievement, for complying with state and federal laws, to satisfy public informational needs, and for individual student needs is necessary for a sound and thorough educational program.

The ultimate and primary objective of a testing program is to help all students realize optimum development through a continuous planned program.

The Board approves the use of the examinations and standardized tests which serve to provide objective information for students, teacher, counselors, and parents.

All tests, including psychological tests (other than teacher prepared tests and examinations) which are used in the Sumner Public Schools shall be subject to approval by the superintendent.
