International Student Exchange
Sumner School District provides the opportunity for exchange students to enroll in its schools. (Foreign exchange student is defined as a student from a foreign country studying here in the United States under the sponsorship of an exchange organization. This does not include visiting friends or relatives here without sponsorship.) The admission of these students is based upon their meeting the criteria established for the acceptance of a regular resident student and nonresident student. Organizations sponsoring foreign exchange students must meet the criteria established in the regulations applicable to this policy. (Washington State International Student Exchange Program Act)
