2024 STEM Fair & Art Show: Feb. 24
The Sumner-Bonney Lake School District is hosting its annual STEM Fair and Art Show from 10 am-2 pm on Feb. 24 at Sumner Middle School.
This all-district event showcases student science, technology, engineering and math projects and artwork. There will be food trucks, community exhibits and hands-on activities for all ages. Admission is free.
Information for registering for kindergarten will also be available during the fair.

Student/Parent/Volunteer Reminders:

If your student is registered to present a project, please check your email for important logistical information including presentation times and other details. All students who are completing a digital project must submit their project slides and quad chart to this form by Feb. 21 at 3 pm. Slides and quad charts can also be sent to abigail_finney@sumnersd.org. Students grades K-2 who are presenting a trifold do not need to submit anything in advance.

In addition to the artwork curated by our elementary art docents, elementary students are invited to submit work digitally through this form. We will have rotating slideshows of student art throughout the event. You can also email photos of student art to abigail_finney@sumnersd.org — just be sure to include the student name, grade, school, and title of the piece.

STEM Spotlight: Biotechnology
Check out this STEM Spotlight featuring Ms. Martinez and her awesome Biotech program at BLHS! Students are diving into science, forging community connections, and gearing up for the future. Ms. Martinez and her students will be showcasing Biotech and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America – Future Health Professionals) at the upcoming STEM Fair.

First elementary student in 10 years wins STEM Fair poster contest
We congratulate Tselmuun Dagvadorj, the winner of this year's STEM Fair and Art Show poster contest! As a 5th grader at Bonney Lake Elementary, Tselmuun is the first elementary student to win this contest in over 10 years.
Students from across the district submitted artwork to be considered, and we received over 300 entries from students K-12. After an extensive voting process determined the top three designs, superintendent Dr. Laurie Dent chose Tselmuun's as the winner. Tselmuun's art will be featured on all promotional materials for the upcoming STEM Fair and Art Show, which will be held on Feb. 24.

We also recognize Emily Bones from Bonney Lake High School and Elliot Strong from Sumner High School on their designs below – Emily was a close 2nd place runner up, and Elliot's design placed 3rd in the contest. Well done!
