Growing Hope and Opportunity

  • The Sumner-Bonney Lake School District has an action plan for growing hope and opportunity in all students.  This action plan is intended to help students develop social, emotional, wellness and citizenship skills, which in turn creates opportunities for success and healthy communities for students and staff.  The project creates coherence with multiple programs we currently use, like Second Step, Nav 101, Steps to Respect, Kelso’s Choices, Servant Leadership, Comprehensive Guidance, Mental Health Counseling, and Drug and Alcohol Treatment. This action plan is identified in the District Goals and helps us put a framework around our urgency for student engagement and success.

Growing hope and opportunity ensures students develop social, emotional, wellness and citizenship skills for school and life.  It is our goal for students to become healthy, resilient, and culturally proficient global citizens who commit to act with integrity, respect, and compassion.  This will ultimately connect students with school and community and become engaged in learning.
