Federal law and USDA regulation require nutrition programs to make reasonable modifications to accommodate children with disabilities. Under the law, a disability is an impairment which substantially limits a major life activity or bodily function, which can include allergies and digestive conditions, but does not include personal diet preferences.
Please complete the Dietary Accommodations Request Form as an accomodation offered through the Grab-n-Go Meal program during COVID-19 school closures.
In partnership with local food banks and sources, the SBLSD BackPack Program provides a bag of nonperishable food at the end of each week to participating students to take home and eat when school meal programs are unavailable. During our COVID-19 closure, weekend bags of food will be delivered to specific bus stop drop-off locations at designated times for participating students. For participating families unable to make this time, food will be available for pickup at Transportation every Friday between 3-5 p.m. To inquire about this program, or to verify your bus stop drop-off location, email email@example.com.
