  • Sumner School District to place two replacement levies on February ballot

On Dec. 6, the Sumner School District Board of Directors approved resolutions to place two replacement levies on the Feb. 13, 2018, ballot: Replacement Educational Programs & Operation Levy and Replacement Instructional Technology Improvements Levy. The current levies, which voters approved in 2014, expire in 2018. These are not new taxes. Levies provide about 20 percent of the District’s total operating revenue.

“Levy funding directly impacts the success of our district and our ability to graduate 100 percent of students, which is why we're grateful for the community’s longstanding support of our schools,” said Superintendent Laurie Dent. “Everything from educational programs taught by highly-qualified staff to computer equipment and infrastructure is enriched by levy dollars.”
