STEM Fair and District Art Show

The Sumner School District has transformed the traditional science fair into a STEM Fair – showcasing Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Math activities, technology and engineering projects are featured along with science fair projects at this annual event, and held in conjunction with the District Art Show.
The competition begins at the classroom level as the District STEM Fair represents first, second, and third place winners from each grade level at every school, along with two honorable mention entries. Students are provided with an opportunity to present projects to science fair judges, with the top project moving on to a regional competition in March.
The Art Show celebrates the arts in SSD schools with several pieces of student work in various media including watercolor, oil, charcoal, colored pencil, mixed media, digital photographs by middle and high school students, and ceramics on exhibit.
The 5th annual Sumner School District K-12 STEM Fair was held February 25, 2017. Click here for a full listing of award recipients.

The commitment to an annual district STEM fair reflects our dedication to promote student interest in S.T.E.M. careers and acknowledge their accomplishments towards future endeavors. As we prepare for the 2017-18 STEM Fair and District Art Show, please use this page as a resource in planning.
