Sumner School District’s Child Nutrition Department provides a free supper program at Daffodil Valley and Liberty Ridge elementary schools for children ages 1 – 18. For the remainder of the school year, supper is served in the cafeteria of the schools at the following times:
Daffodil Valley Elementary
1509 Valley Avenue in Sumner
Monday – Friday, 5:15-6:00 p.m.
Liberty Ridge Elementary
12202 209th Ave. Ct. E., in Bonney Lake
Monday – Thursday, 5:00-5:45 p.m.
Friday, 4:30-5:15 p.m.
*Times are subject to change
Typical menu mirrors what is offered for breakfast and lunch; main course plus 3 or 4 choices of fruits or vegetables and milk.
These schools qualify for the federally-funded program based on the number of students currently on subsidized lunch. The federal government reimburses the district for the cost of the supper program.
Child Nutrition Director, Karen Brown, states “Free and reduced-priced breakfast and lunch are standards in our district and we are excited to offer free supper to more than one elementary school this year. This program for all kids, regardless of income or socio-economic status, is a great value and service to the children in our community.”
One free meal per child allowed. Supper must be eaten in a designated area (cafeteria). No 'to go' meals permitted. Adult supper is available to purchase at $4.00 per meal.
