SchoolMessenger is the primary communications service used to keep in touch with families. This service helps us send announcements, school newsletters, and district news via email, phone, and text messages.
Families can change how/where they receive notifications from Sumner School District schools. Skylert, a module available in Skyward Family Access, is the tool families can use to customize their SchoolMessenger communication preferences. Skylert allows parents to elect how they are contacted for the following scenarios:
For each of these scenarios, a parent may elect to be contacted via phone and/or email. If the parent so chooses, they may add additional contact numbers or email addresses as well.
- Daily Attendance
- General Information (e.g. general school broadcasts)
Sign into Family Access. Click on the Skylert link to view the contact data for SchoolMessenger notifications. Select or deselect options as desired.
You can choose which numbers receive which kind of messages by checking or unchecking the boxes next to them.
Additional fields are available for you to add more phone numbers and email addresses for notification.
Text messaging is also an option for receiving information.
The phone numbers and email addresses listed are based on the information the school has on file as your contact information. If you need to update this data, contact the school directly.
