I continue to be honored and excited to be the principal of BLHS, the World’s Greatest High School!   BLHS has outstanding students and is blessed to have such supportive parents and community.  I am looking forward to continuing to partner with all stakeholders (especially students and parents) to help BLHS be the premiere high school in the state of Washington! It is my job to help guide the staff in supporting each and every student learn essential content and  skills  to earn a diploma and become career and college ready.  We (educators) have a moral imperative to ensure that every student is successful.

I am entering my 21st year as an educator and my third year here at BLHS.  I have a strong background in improving classroom instruction, creating support systems to help students achieve, and ensuring no student falls through the cracks.  I LOVE the Seahawks, take every opportunity I can to go fishing, and spending time with my family.

I am very family oriented and am the proud father of three kids ages 18, 16, and 14.  As a father I want only the best for my children and seek that every day.  I believe that every parent feels exactly the same.  This is a thought that is always on my mind and helps to guide the decisions I make that impact your students.  My door is always open.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a concern about your student(s).  I am looking forward to serving this community!

I am excited to be starting my 4th year as part of the amazing Bonney Lake High School Community!!  This is my 20th year in education serving 16 years as an English and Social Studies teacher and currently as an Assistant Principal here at BLHS overseeing our 10th grade students.  I love being an educator.  I see value in every student and believe it is our job to guide, assist, and support each student to set high goals and achieve them. I believe partnering with parents to work as a team to support our students is a key factor to students’ success as well as the importance of establishing relationships with students. I look forward to serving you and your student again this year as the 10th grade Administrator as well as overseeing our English and Social Studies Departments.  I can’t wait to help support the work we’re doing at BLHS.  Please don’t hesitate to connect with me with any questions, concerns, or input you may have.  Go Panthers!!

I am excited to start my second year as a Panther at Bonney Lake High School and in the Sumner School District. I have been in education for 18 years, 13 of which were in the classroom as a Special Education teacher. As one of the three assistant principals at BLHS, I will oversee the 9th grade students, along with the departments of Special Education, World Languages, Physical Education, and Fine Arts. I strongly believe that through connections and relationships with students, we can help each student achieve their goals for their future while supporting teachers to meet the high standards of today! I am married with 2 boys (10 years old and 7 years old) who continue to shape me as a leader and drive me to make school a better place for every student so that each person can see themselves as successful in whatever direction of life they choose to take. I am looking forward to my second year at BLHS and deepening my connections with the Bonney Lake community. Feel free to reach out to me at any point. Go Panthers!

As an original staff member of the World’s Greatest High School, I am honored to have to opportunity serve Bonney Lake in my 4th year as an assistant principal.  Through our halls walk the world’s greatest students, educators, and families.  Every year I am increasingly humbled to be working with our students and families.  I began my tenure with the Panthers as a Social Studies teacher and as the Head Wrestling Coach.  Prior to my time at BLHS, I was an educator in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I secretly love the Seattle Seahawks, but shhhhh…. I don’t really like to talk about it.  My wife, daughter, and I love living in the Pacific North-West and in our adopted Bonney Lake community.

This year, I will be working closely with our eleventh and twelfth grade students, student leadership, and with our ASB clubs and activities. I work alongside our amazing teachers in our Mathematics, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and Leadership Departments. Additionally, I will be coordinating our tier three student interventions and our alternatives to discipline programs.

Bonney Lake High School is the best kept secret in Puget Sound. Our goal at BLHS is to create an environment where each and every person who walks our halls knows that they are cared for and that they will be successful here. I am excited to be a part of the positive and supportive atmosphere which is growing at BLHS. As a witness to the ever improving culture and climate, I can attest that this is a special place.

You can find my office in Student Services.  Please feel free to contact me if there is ever a need. Go Panthers!

This will be your child’s Year of the Panther!  Everyone at BLHS is prepared to make certain our students enjoy leadership opportunities combined with supported academic challenges.  I have served as an administrator at all three middle schools along with extensive work at our district’s eight elementary schools.  Professional recognitions include Principal of the Year, National Board for Professional Principal Standards, six years on the Association of Washington School Principals Board of Directors, and two years with the Washington state Administrative Professional Certification Panel.  I promise to support your child with a blend of district, state, and national professional experience.  On a personal level, my wife of 38 years and I are living a parents’ dream – our sons have completed college, have excellent jobs, and are happily married!  You will see me everywhere supporting Panther Power and, of course, your son or daughter.

The 2017-18 school year marks my return to the Sumner School District. I graduated from Sumner High in 1993 and after my college days at Western Washington University, plus 18 years in the Kent School District, I am excited to be joining the Bonney Lake Panthers. Early in my career I was a Dean of Students and math teacher at the middle school level. The last 14 years I continued to teach math and was the Head Girls and Boys Soccer Coach at Kentwood High. In my 25 seasons as a head coach, I’ve come to appreciate the hard work and dedication coaches and students have while participating in athletics and activities, as well as in the classroom. My goal for the Bonney Lake High School Athletic Department is to be focused on developing athletes with character and providing student athletes with opportunities to grow and learn about themselves through their participation in sports. I am married and have 2 girls. My wife, Tara, has supported all my endeavors and you can expect to see her at many Panther events. My oldest daughter will be joining me this year at BLHS as a freshman, while my youngest starts her final year at Victor Falls.
