I continue to be honored and excited to be the principal of BLHS, the World’s Greatest High School!   BLHS has outstanding students and is blessed to have such supportive parents and community.  I am looking forward to continuing to partner with all stakeholders (especially students and parents) to help BLHS be the premiere high school in the state of Washington! It is my job to help guide the staff in supporting each and every student learn essential content and  skills  to earn a diploma and become career and college ready.  We (educators) have a moral imperative to ensure that every student is successful.

I am entering my 23rd year as an educator and my fifth year here at BLHS.  I have a strong background in improving classroom instruction, creating support systems to help students achieve, and ensuring no student falls through the cracks.  I LOVE the Seahawks, spending time with my family and take every opportunity I can to go fishing.

I am very family oriented and am the proud father of three kids ages 20, 18, and 16.  As a father I want only the best for my children and seek that every day.  I believe that every parent feels exactly the same.  This is a thought that is always on my mind and helps to guide the decisions I make that impact your students.  My door is always open.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a concern about your student(s).  I am looking forward to serving this community!

As an original staff member of the World’s Greatest High School, I am honored to have to opportunity serve Bonney Lake in my 5th year as an assistant principal.  Through our halls walk the world’s greatest students, educators, and families.  Every year I am increasingly humbled to be working with our students and families.  I began my tenure with the Panthers as a Social Studies teacher and as the Head Wrestling Coach.  Prior to my time at BLHS, I was an educator in the San Francisco Bay Area. My wife, daughter, and I love living in the Pacific North-West and in our adopted Bonney Lake community.

This year, I will be working closely with our eleventh and twelfth grade students, student leadership, and with our ASB clubs and activities. I work alongside our amazing teachers in our Mathematics, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and Leadership Departments. Additionally, I will be coordinating our tier three student interventions and our alternatives to discipline programs.

Bonney Lake High School is the best kept secret in Puget Sound. Our goal at BLHS is to create an environment where each and every person who walks our halls knows that they are cared for and that they will be successful here. I am excited to be a part of the positive and supportive atmosphere which is growing at BLHS. As a witness to the ever improving culture and climate, I can attest that this is a special place.

You can find my office in Student Services.  Please feel free to contact me if there is ever a need. Go Panthers!

Hello BLHS families! I’m so excited to be serving you as this year’s 10th grade administer. My journey in education started in the south end of Seattle at Rainier Beach High School where I taught Health to 9th-12th graders and coached baseball. After teaching health, I was offered the opportunity to take a position as an Academic Intervention Specialist within the building. The work was challenging but also very rewarding. I live with my girlfriend and her son in Burien but hope to move to Bonney Lake in the future.

This year will be my very first at BLHS and already the students, parents, and staff have made me feel so welcomed. I will oversee history, science, physical education, and the health department. They are some of the most engaging and motivated teachers I have had the opportunity to work with. My main goal is to partner with families and this great community to help ensure all BLHS students leave with the skills necessary to be successful in whatever path they choose. I’m looking forward to being a member of this great community and I can’t wait to get to work.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with whatever concerns you may have.

The 2019-2020 school year will be my first year as a member of the BLHS administrative team,  but my 11th year in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District. Prior to becoming a Panther, I served our community for six years as the assistant principal at Mountain View Middle School.  I then had the honor to serve all fourteen schools in our district as the Director of Student Services. Before coming to the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District in 2010, I taught English, Reading Intervention, and Leadership in the Tahoma School District.

Prior to working in education, I worked as a social worker for at-risk youth and their families.  After 10 years of working with a broad range of children and young adults in that capacity, it became very clear to me that having a good education is the greatest equalizer for our kids and that working in education would allow me to have a bigger impact.  That was in 2001, when I went back to school to become a teacher.

Not only am I an employee of the district, I am the parent of two SBLSD students.  My son is a senior at Sumner High School and graduates in the spring of 2020. My daughter is a seventh grader at Lakeridge Middle School.  Additionally, my husband is in his 30th year of education - all of which have been in the SBLSD.

My office is in Student Services and my door is always open!

Go Panthers!

The 2018-19 school year marks my 2nd year at Bonney Lake High School. I graduated from Sumner High in 1993 and spent my college days at Western Washington University. I served in the Kent School District for 18, and now so happy to be part of the Bonney Lake Panther Team. Early in my career I was a Dean of Students and math teacher at the middle school level. The last 14 years I continued to teach math and was the Head Girls and Boys Soccer Coach at Kentwood High. In my 25 seasons as a head coach, I’ve come to appreciate the hard work and dedication coaches and students have while participating in athletics and activities, as well as in the classroom. My goal for the Bonney Lake High School Athletic Department is to be focused on developing athletes with character and providing student athletes with opportunities to grow and learn about themselves through their participation in sports. I am married and have 2 girls. My wife, Tara, has supported all my endeavors and you can expect to see her at many Panther events. My oldest daughter is at BLHS as a sophomore while my youngest is a sixth grader at Mountain View Middle School.
