    Students will be coming home today with student - led conference confirmations for next Tuesday, March 20. Please be sure to ask your child for the confirmation. If you were not able to schedule your student's conference online, don't worry, you have now been automatically assigned a conference time. Our goal, is 100% attendance and participation.

  • Additional School Day: May 25

    Students in the Sumner School District lost one day of instruction due to a weather-related school closure on Feb. 22. The current school calendar includes one day for weather make-up, which is May 25.

  • Spring Recreation Programs

    A wide variety of programs, activities and classes for children, teens, and adults are offered in the Spring Activities Brochure available on the City of Bonney Lake's website. For more information, or to submit registration information, contact the Recreation Program at (253) 891-6500.

  • Library Card Distribution

    In celebration of National Literacy Month in March, the Sumner School District and Pierce County Library System are partnering to provide a library card to every student in the district. Parents have the opportunity to opt out from Feb. 9 to 23; otherwise their child will be issued a library card the week of March 12.

Register for School

  • Welcome to the Sumner School District! With a strong pledge to serve children and their families, rigorous academics and learning initiatives ensure a quality education for every child making the SSD a great place to learn! The District serves families residing in the cities of Bonney Lake, Edgewood, Pacific and Sumner, and unincorporated areas of Pierce County. Residency verification is required at time of enrollment.


  • For the 2015-16 School Year, the Sumner School District will be moving to online athletic clearances for middle and high school athletes. The online process will provide a convenient way for families to clear athletes entirely online. Clearances will run through our partner company called, FamilyID. FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides our families with a user-friendly way to register and clear athletes for our sports programs. When registered through FamilyID, the system will track all clearance information for each athlete.

Clubs & Activities

  • At Mountain View, we encourage all students to be involved in an extracurricular activity. It’s a great way to learn new interests and make new friends.
