  • Additional School Day: May 25

    Students in the Sumner School District lost one day of instruction due to a weather-related school closure on Feb. 22. The current school calendar includes one day for weather make-up, which is May 25.

    Our Hawks have made tremendous growth academically, socially and emotionally since September. We have so much to celebrate! Our next hexamester grading period ended on March 9th and students will be carrying these progress reports home on March 19th.

    The Sumner School District is hosting a curriculum night for families to preview Human Growth and Development materials for students in grade 4 and 5, as well as HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum for students in grades 5-12.

  • Library Card Distribution

    In celebration of National Literacy Month in March, the Sumner School District and Pierce County Library System are partnering to provide a library card to every student in the district. Parents have the opportunity to opt out from Feb. 9 to 23; otherwise their child will be issued a library card the week of March 12.

  • Welcome to the Sumner School District! With a strong pledge to serve children and their families, rigorous academics and learning initiatives ensure a quality education for every child making the SSD a great place to learn! The District serves families residing in the cities of Bonney Lake, Edgewood, Pacific and Sumner, and unincorporated areas of Pierce County. Residency verification is required at time of enrollment.

Clubs & Activities

  • Early Learning
    Students have a wide variety of ways to be involved in extra –curricular activities at Lakeridge. Students must purchase an ASB card to participate in club activities.


  • There are a number of extra curricular activities for student at Lakeridge Middle.
