ADULT ACTIVITIES

INSANITY: MAX Interval Training
INSANITY consists of traditional interval training with long bursts of maximum intensity exercises with periods of rest. Aerobic and anaerobic intervals, plymetric drills on top of nonstop intervals of power, strength, resistance and ab/core training moves result in burning up to 1.000 calories in an hour while making changes to your body. No equipment or weights needed. This is an ongoing class that you can join at any time.

Adult Coed Soccer
Teams will play 8 league games on local fields beginning the first week of April. Games will be held on Sundays throughout the day. League fees will include officials, field prep/lights and play-offs for qualifying teams. home team will furnish the game ball. Three divisions offered: Competitive, Rec-Open, and Rec-Over 30. the Rec-Open and Rec-Over 30 will be combined if not enough teams. Teams will need to field 5 women and 5 men and goalie can be either gender. Players must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school. Maximum of 16 teams.
Registration Deadline: March 7 for league fees and roster.
Team Fee: $500 (80% within Sumner/Bonney Lake)
                  $535 (Teams outside Sumner/Bonney Lake
Other: $100 deposit will hold spot until deadline

Zumba Fitness
Zumba is a Latin inspired, calorie burning fitness program that is sweeping the world! Zumba fuses Latin rhythms with easy to follow Salsa, Cumbia, and Merengue dance steps in an effective workout regime. You won't believe how much fun exercise is until you try it! Zumba is great workout for beginners and also includes modifications for every level of fitness. Join us to get fit and have fun too! Class registration is by punch card which gives you the option to attend classes at your convenience.

Open Weight Room at Sumner High School
Well supervised weight room time by Dave Hirano, who will also provide a personal program based on your goals and objectives. Now is the time to get started on your own personal training plan!

Adult Coed Volleyball - "Call Your Own" League
All players must be 16 years or older with all players under 18 requiring parental consent. Teams will consist of 3 men and 3 women (you may have up to 12 players on your roster). High school volleyball rules will be in effect (rally scoring, first touch, etc.) League will be played from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. Teams will play 14 matches (typically two per night). League play begins May 2. If there is enough interest, we will run more than one division. First place team receives championship T-shirts.

Cost: $175 (80% of team live in Sumner/Bonney Lake)

Men's Spring Slowpitch
Teams play 8 league games plus playoffs for qualifying teams on local fields beginning the week of April 14. Two divisions are offered: Competitive & Recreational. Games will be played either Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur and are officiated by USSSA officials. Players must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school. Home team game balls are provided.
Registration Deadline: March 24 for league fee and roster
Team Fee: $535 (80% of team live in Sumner/Bonney Lake)
                  $560 (Teams outside Sumner/Bonney Lake)

Sumner Pool Spring Offerings
Sumner/Bonney Lake Aquatics is making a big splash this spring with a great selection of programs. With everything from AquaZumba, shallow and deep water aerobics classes, lap swims, group and private swim lessons, family open swims and much more - you are sure to find something for every member of the family! Any upcoming birthdays? Consider a funtastic birthday party at the pool! The Valley Aquatics Swim Team is training in the Sumner Pool - be sure to check the web site for more details!

Tae Kwon Do
Looking for a great work out in a fun environment where the whole family can work out together? Martial arts is for all ages and will improve your self esteem, self confidence, physical fitness and flexibility. Tae Kwon Do is a structured martial arts system of practical techniques for self defense, strengthening and conditioning. We incorporate various martial arts techniques to to create a mixed self defense program. Be sure to check out our "street clothes" Thursdays!

Sumner Judo Club - Ages 6 to Adult
Judo is a Japanese martial art and Olympic sport which utilizes throwing, grappling and submission techniques. These techniques are effective for self-defense or sport application. Students interested in competition, will have the opportunity to compete in local tournaments when instructors decide that they are ready. This monthly, ongoing class is great for developing self confidence, flexibility, and balance. New students must start the first Wednesday or Friday of the month.

Dog Obedience Training
Does your dog jump up on people or won't come when called? Barge through the door before you? Can't walk nicely without pulling on a lead? It's time for obedience training! Classes are offered for all dogs ages 3 months and older. All family members are welcome to attend. Classes are educational and FUN!
Basic Training:
Techniques to get your dog to be polite and will behaved. Review of household manners, management techniques and common problems such as jumping up, digging, and chewing. Cues such as down, stay, give, settle, come, leave it, sit and loose-lead walking will be taught. Socialization with other dogs and humans is emphasized.
Intermediate Training:
For all dogs that have completed the Basic course or have instructor's permission. Builds on previous learned behaviors and new cues will be added. More socialization and introduction to off leash walking and agility is included.

Indoor Play Park
Toddlers Rule! At "Indoor Play Park" everything is set up with kids ages 1-5 in mind. We have music, toys, and equipment for a fun and safe play session. Parent must be present to supervise their children at all times. Space is limited to the first 35 children. A parent with three or more children must have an additional person to assist with supervision.
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays through June 12 (Closed on all observed holidays and "no school" days)

Come join us for some fun! The alphabet, numbers, Spanish and Sign Language are introduced. Play games, read stories, make crafts, ahve circle time and show-n-tell. Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2013 and toilet trained. No lunch or snack will be provided. Tuition payments after the first of the month incur a $25 late fee.

Includes 45 minutes of gymnastics weekly. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month; late payments will incur a $10 late fee. Visa or Mastercard autopayment plan is available.

This is a coed, no contact flag football league. children will be grouped into two age groups; 5/6 year old and 7/8 year old. Practices will be held on Saturdays, June 7 and 14. Six games will be on Saturdays, June 28 through August 9. Practice times will be determined at the coaches meeting.

Peewee Indoor Soccer - Ages 3-8
This is a fun coed program with three divisions offered: 3/4 year old division, 5/6 year old division, and 7/8 year old division. Score is not kept and the emphasis of the program is fun! Practices will be held on Saturdays, March 29 and April 5. Practice times are typically between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00p.m. Six games are played on Saturdays, April 19 through May 31.

Brick 4 Kidsz! Junior Robotics Class - Ages 7+
Come build a Rover with LEGO™ Bricks and Program NXT™ software. you will use program software to input commands which wirelessly control the Rover. You're in control of th Rover - steer it backward, forward, faster, and slower.

Spring Break Day Camp - Grades K-6
Looking for something fun for your children to do during spring break? Join us for spring break! Children enjoy group games, puzzles, arts & crafts, and more! Children are supervised by our Before & After School Activities Club staff. All staff are First Aid/CPR and WSP certified. Bring a sack lunch each day. An afternoon snack is provided. Come for a day or the entire week.
Registration: Pre-register by March 29 for discounted Price and to ensure your spot.

This course prepares youth to respond safely to a variety of situations when direct parental supervision is unavailable. Includes role play door/visitor, phone safety, gun and internet safety, house keys, personal safety, first aid, and family communications. Learn to be a capable kid. You must pre-register for this class, no registrations will be taken at the door.

Super Sitters Babysitting Class - Ages 11-16
Come for a day of fun while learning important skills for earning your Red Cross Babysitter Certification card. Class covers supervision and play with children of various ages, basic first aid, safety precautions, accident prevention and emergency skills. Get some great ideas for your own Super Sitters kit full of games and activities. Bring a sack lunch and snack to class. You must pre-register for this class, no registrations will be taken at the door.

Off Broadway - Ages 6-12

Roach Tumbling & Gymnastics - Ages 2-12
roach gymnastics coaches instruct safe, fun gymnastics designated for beginners and beginner plus gymnasts to develop skills at their own speed. Attire: T-shirt tucked into shots or a leotard, no zippers. Hair should be tied back into a low ponytail.
Toddlers: (Ages 1-2 years old)
This fun-loving, high-energy program teaches body awareness and coordination through music, scarves, bean bags, and movement exploration while incorporating a monthly theme. Parent participation required.
Preschool: (Age 3)
This class is designed to work on social skills, following an obstacle course and listening to directions while having lots of fun. Children use their imagination while incorporating a monthly theme.
Pre-K: (Ages 4-5)
Children learn to grow their basic gymnastics skills as they follow an obstacle course and have lots of fun while incorporating a monthly theme.
Youth: (Ages 6-12)
Children learn basic gymnastics including cartwheels and handstands in a fun, safe, environment. Each apparatus will be taught during a session and each week will have a new skill of focus. Those with previous experience will continue developing their skills.

Coed Middle School Tennis
The Sumner/Bonney Lake Recreation Department is proud to offer Coed Tennis for athletes in grades 6 through 8 at Lakeridge Middle School, Mountain View Middle School, and Sumner Middle School. Competitions/tournaments will occur in the afternoon/early evening time period within the Sumner School District. League play includes Sumner School District middle schools, Curtis and Hudtloff junior high schools. Transportation is not provided. A certified teacher will coach each team. Minimum participation of 20 students per school is required.
Completed registration form signed by parent/guardian along with payment is required at time of registration with the Recreation Department. For additional information regarding sports clearances and eligibility forms, please contact your middle school Athletic Director or download forms here.

Panther Volleyball Camp for Grades 5-8
Join Bonney Lake High School Varsity Volleyball coach, Debbie Beckwith, her assistants and players from the BLHS volleyball team for a great volleyball experience. The youngest players will receive personalized instruction in the fundamental skills of passing, setting, and serving. More advanced players will build on these skills, in addition to an introduction to higher levels of offensive and defensive systems. The primary goal of this camp is to have fun while receiving expert instruction that will help all players advance to the next level of competition.

Bonney Lake Girls Fastpitch Camp for Grades 2-8
Join Bonney Lake High School Fastpitch Coach, Andrew Sage, his coaching staff and players. Camp covers defensive and offensive fundamentals. Please bring a bat, glove, cleats for outdoor shoes and tennis shoes for indoor. Includes T-shirt.
Registration Deadline: March 10
Date: March 22
Time: Grades 2-4 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
          Grades 5-8 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: Bonney Lake High School fastpitch field (if raining, camp will be held in Gyms A & B)

Youth Baseball for Grades 3-8
Our youth baseball program begins practices in early June with 8 games to follow. Grades 3/4 are a separate division. Grades 5/6 and 7/8 may be combined with Auburn Parks & Recreation league. Grades 7/8 Pony League rules apply. Games and practices are typically week night evenings with some weekends if needed due to scheduling conflicts or rainout reschedules. This program is for beginners and players with previous experience. Players may play up one year but may not play down. Second graders are not allowed in this league (there is a separate coach pitch league for 1st and 2nd graders during the summer). Teams are grouped by school. Please note on your form if you have a specific coach or friend request. Coaches meeting will be in late May. Team sponsorship opportunities available at $175 per team.
Registration Deadline: May 1 ($10 late fee after this date)
Cost: $50 includes T-shirt and cap
Location: Sumner School District baseball fields

Elementary After School Sport Camp - Track
This camp is open to Sumner School District students in the 4th or 5th grade only. Certified teachers or student teachers will teach fundamental skills in track basics. A completed registration form signed by parent/guardian along with payment is required at the time of registration. Signed concussion forms are also required. The season culminates with a jamboree at Sunset Stadium on May 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Transportation is not included.
Registration Deadline: March 31
Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
Dates: April 14 - May 21 (No camp April 7, 8, 10)
Time: Directly after school for 90 minutes

Many youth in our community are unable to participate in youth sports due to financial reasons. Please consider donating to our hardship fund . . . every donation makes a difference. This fund directly benefits youth within our community.
