Online Volunteer Application
Hopefully you have been able to successfully complete the online volunteer application. If you haven’t yet, please take a few minutes to do so.
The application is linked from our school Web page by clicking on Volunteer Information. The process should take approximately twenty minutes. To apply as a volunteer, please complete the following steps:
Fill out the online application; please be sure to complete your profile and checklist. Complete the items in the checklist, including the mandatory disclosure. A State Patrol background check is conducted on all volunteer applicants.
Once approved, all volunteers must annually resubmit an application to volunteer. After completing the initial application, the annual renewal is completed with one button click.
If you need help scanning documents to upload or access to a computer, please let us know and we would be happy to help. Thanks so much for your willingness to serve the students of the Sumner School District.
Reading at the Ridge
Did you know that when children practice writing it also helps them become better readers?
Here are some ideas for getting your child to write at home:
-Write a list for the grocery store.
-Write a thank you note or letter to a friend or family member.
-Keep a journal.
Try to help your child organize their writing by having them verbally explain it first. Also, encourage your child to sound out words they want to write. Before long, they will have the confidence to be an independent writer.
