District Annual Calendar

The 2011-12 school year calendar with key dates for the coming year and information about academic programs was mailed to all families of registered students. Bus transportation schedules are not be included in this mailing.

Changes to 2011-12 School Calendar: Extension of First Semester
Because of last week's emergency school cancellations, students lost a week of instruction, practice and review before end-of-semester testing. To provide students and teachers with adequate time for instruction and assessment, first semester is extended by one week. This means first semester ends on February 6 and the student waiver day for professional development-grading/flex day is moved from January 30 to February 6.

• January 30: SCHOOL DAY for all students K-12.
  
• February 3: Last day of middle and high schools' first semester.
  
• February 6: NO SCHOOL for all students K-12.
  
• February 7: First day of middle and high schools' second semester.

Changes to 2011-12 School Calendar: Snow Make-Up Days
At this time there have been 4 days of school closure due to weather. The current school calendar includes 2 days for weather make-up in May.

• May 25 and May 29 will be school days for all students K-12.

The additional 2 make-up days have not yet been scheduled.
